If we go to the concept and definition of modern technology, we can say that it is the technology of the time in which we live today, of the present that is still widely in force that is accepted, and is adopted by society in a massive way after breaking with the old paradigms technological.

The emergence of new technologies, as the history of technology has shown throughout the centuries, serves to improve productivity and efficiency to perform tasks and solve human problems in their different areas.

Technological advance allows us to optimize, perfect and streamline processes to improve the quality of life and achieve the objectives of our daily activities.

Every day new electronic devices and devices appear, which carry out innovations in different ways, and which change the concept of modern technology at all times.

A clear expression of modern technology is the so – called information technology , which allows us to communicate quickly with anyone, establish communication through the Internet, send data (multimedia files, video, images or music) and messages, to any place in the world 24 hours a day, without any interruptions.

When technology is considered modern?

There are inventions that were created decades ago, but are still being used, a clear example of this is refrigerators, or television, let’s go deeper into these two cases:

10 modern technologies that have changed the world

The definition of technology tells us that they are a group of knowledge that is used to generate benefits for humanity, and many of these knowledge, knowledge and virtues generate innovations that change the course of man’s existence.

We will then try to give examples of modern technology that have generated great changes in humanity in these times of the 21st century.

  1. Smart appliances

The so-called “internet of things” is on everyone’s lips today, it is nothing more and nothing less than a wide range of devices that are connected to the internet from our homes, schools and offices.

First it was computers, then mobile phones, then TVs, and now it is household appliances as well as our homes.

Home automation, that is, smart homes, are already a reality, which open our doors, turn on the lights by themselves when night comes, or turn on our oven to heat the favorite food when we arrive at our home after the work day.

Microwave ovens, stoves, coffee makers, refrigerators, smart vacuum cleaners ( in English called vacuum cleaner robot ) connected to a central, and interconnected between them, sharing information, sending and receiving from the Internet.

  1. Driverless cars

Driverless cars are a reality in several first world countries, where it is no longer necessary to drive to get to school, work or to travel to different parts of a city.

Autonomous cars promise to help us avoid the stress of driving when there is traffic, they start off on their own, look for routes with less traffic and also park in parallel without having any problems or collisions with the cars in front or behind.

While these cars without drivers will be improved sooner or later are already seeing the first accidents that have had fatalities.

The GPS arrived, and they made it very easy for us to get to almost any place, we had to download a map and it took us directly to the site.

However, that is now a thing of the past, today the GPS devices that are placed in the car this? In decline, thanks to applications such as Google Maps by Google, it is possible to activate the GPS that each mobile brings so that we receive exact directions on where to go.

For years, computing has advanced so much that now thanks to better speeds of ADSL and fiber optics it is possible to do live streaming of series, movies and music, without having to download them.

Pioneering companies such as Spotify and Netflix have managed to take over a large part of the market, and above all they have known how to monetize these applications, where they offer free versions in some cases, and then premium subscriptions. Others that have followed suit have been Amazon Prime and Apple Music.

One of the widely used functions of mobile phones apart from using it as a GPS, is as a remote control or remote control, that is, we control the volume of our TV, and we can change channels, and choose our Netflix series or favorite music with Spotify or Apple Music.
